Responsibilities

As a Risk Management Specialist for Liberty Military Housing, you are responsible for Insurance coverage analysis, insurance tracking, compliance decisions and acting as a liaison between Risk Management, the sites, and our third-party renters insurance vendor.

 

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of renters insurance compliance for the Liberty portfolio. Perform compliance reports and tracking for properties on a national level.
  • Prepare documents, applications and reports to deliver to the Director of Risk Management for the renewal cycle of our corporate insurance programs.
  • Partnering with our brokers, underwriters and third-party administrators on insurance related projects for renewal.
  • Administration of Certificates of Insurance, binders and policy details.
  • Review third-party Certificates of Insurance for vendor compliance as needed.
  • Reporting of financial and professional liability claims and monitoring of settlement with internal and third-party counsel as needed.
  • Produce risk reports as needed
  • Identification of safety and loss control programs for risk mitigation.
  • Operate a company or personal vehicle to travel to various locations for work purposes.
  • Assist in other risk management related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:   

  • 3-5 years of experience, working in a Risk Management department in the real estate, property management, multifamily or hospitality industry.
  • A strong knowledge of renters insurance and understanding of compliance elements within insurance coverages, specifically renters’ insurance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or insurance studies. An ARM (associate in risk management) designation is also acceptable or a bachelor’s degree in business will also be considered with experience in insurance in a Risk Management department or in a broker service role.
  • The candidate must have a strong knowledge of basic principles of insurance and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related activities and may include overnight travel.
  • The position requires mobility within the office; use of a computer and other office machinery such as a scanner and copy machine.
  • Must be able to deal with a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment, including handling multiple tasks on a daily basis.
  • Ability to operate a personal or company vehicle, or electrical cart.
  • Ability to independently lift/carry supplies or equipment up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range $69,000.00 - $91,000.00 annually plus bonus
