Responsibilities

As Accounting Manager for Liberty Military Housing, you are responsible for supervising the completion of all accounting-related tasks necessary to produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual records reflecting the financial performance of the Company. This includes coordination with National Support Operations leaders. you will oversee and review the work of the National Accounting team to ensure tasks are performed timely, efficiently, and accurately. The role also involves regular review of financial statements and working with leadership to develop timely and accurate explanations for variances from expected performance.

 

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with the National Accountant(s) on a weekly basis to review General Ledger accounts (Operating Statement and Balance Sheet) and ensure the accuracy of posted activities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the National Accounting Analyst to review and post payable reclasses, at least on a weekly
  • Perform daily reconciliations of disbursement accounts to ensure a complete understanding of all transactions.
  • Regularly meet with leadership to review key financial performance metrics and provide assistance with and supervision of Insurance Trust and Salary Related Trust financial record keeping, ensuring that funds reimbursements and payments are handled appropriately.
  • Oversee insurance accounting through the Insurance Trust and manage incident claim reimbursements on the regional side.
  • Supervise payroll accounting transactions within the payroll entity and the Salary-Related Trust.
  • Review monthly financial statements to identify and account for necessary material expense accruals.
  • Review intercompany invoices and reconciliation schedules and post related cash and receipt of reimbursements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prepare monthly explanations for material variances from expected financial and operational
  • Review and submit financial review packages, including variance explanations and other required financial schedules.
  • Coordinate and assist with the annual financial statement audit.
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget file.
  • Identify and communicate process improvements to enhance efficiency and provide better service to on-site teams.
  • Establish and track quarterly and annual Objectives and Key Results for National Accounting, ensuring continuous provision of conversation, feedback, and recognition.
  • Perform other tasks as identified in the future or assigned as ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting operations.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors,
  • subordinates, internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Experience in the Property Management industry preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
  • routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as well as sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $125.000.00 Annually plus bonus
